The Conference lectures included the issue of trenchless technology and its application as well as geo-engineering and the construction of roads, bridges and tunnels. As each year, a constant growth of the number of the participants of the conference is a reflection of increasing application of modern construction technologies and the necessity for them. This doesn't refer only to the Polish market, as the Conference, as usual, attracted also guests from Germany, Italy, Slovakia, Finland, France and great Britain. The lectures were given in Polish, English and German.
The main purpose of the annual event organized by the publisher of "Trenchless Engineering" magazine is to enable a meeting of all the industry specialists, an exchange of the state-of-art knowledge and practical experience. All this can be achieved thanks to the lectures of the industry experts and academics, the presentations of equipment and technology and the hands-on shows. This way next to all the company representatives over 100 people interested in getting to know the new technologies have attended the exhibitions and lectures. The Conference started on Tuesday with a general session which included lectures concerning the financing of water and sewage investments, cities underground infrastructure, environmental aspects of waterworks industry and finding support for trenchless projects from EU funds. The day ended with a cookout dinner interspersed with games and competitions such as archery or strength contests. The guests enjoyed the extra fun as much as the special dishes and drinks which were being served throughout the evening.

On the second day the lectures were held in two separate conference rooms - one for the subjects of trenchless technology and its application, the other for geo-engineering, construction of tunnels and bridges. The two panel were running under the titles: "Networks Inspection and Renovation" and "Geoengineering - roads, bridges, tunnels". Next to the lectures given by faculty experts and theoreticians, a number of presentations was held by companies representatives dealing with the technology on daily basis.
The evening of the second day was the time of the Gala Dinner and the TYTAN 2007 ceremony. The awards were given in eight categories:
- Project of the Year - new installation
- Project of the Year - network renovation
- European Project in trenchless technology
- Innovation product
- The company of the year
- Bridge construction
- Underground construction
- Geoengineering

From among the nominated companies a jury has chosen winners in each category. The jury was divided into two groups. In the area of trenchless technology the jury was constituted by:
- Dr eng. Teresa Nowak from the University of Zielona Góra
- Dr eng. Agata Zwierzchowska from the Kielce University of Technology
- Marek Banasik from the Polish Foundation for Trenchless Technology
- Prof. Dr eng. Cezary Madryas - the president of the Polish Association for Trenchless Technology
- Prof. dr eng. Marian Kwietniewski from the Warsaw Technical University
- Dr eng.. Andrzej Kolonko from the Wrocław Technical University
- Dr eng. Karol Ryż from the Krakow Technical University
- Prof. dr eng. Andrzej Wichur from the Krakow University of Science and Technology
- One extra vote was given to the publisher of Trenchless Engineering magazine - Paweł Kośmider.
Within the area of roads, bridges and tunnels construction and geo-engineering the jury members included:
Prof. Dr eng. Kazimierz Furtak - vice rector of the Krakow Technical University
- Dr eng. Wojciech Grodecki from the Warsaw Technical University

- Prof. dr eng. Andrzej Wichur from the Krakow University of Science and Technology
- One extra vote was given to the Publisher of Geoengineering roads bridges tunnels magazine - Monika Socha-Kośmider.

The members of the jury had a pool of points to award among the nominated companies. The points awarded for each place were 7, 5, 3, 2, 1. The verdicts of all the jury members were summed up to expose the winners. We wish to stress that each company nominated has already been favored and singled out among so many in the market. The detailed results and points awarded to each of the nominees are to be found at http://www.i-b.pl/konferencja/index_e.php?bzz=tytany
The TYTAN Gala was enjoyable not only thanks to the awards ceremony but also for its entertainment features, such as performance of a cabaret comedians and a jazz concert. The music allowed some of the participant to relax and party while others continued their business conversation with jazz playing in the background.
The last day of the Conference had the theme "Trenchless Network Construction". The producers and contractors companies presented a number of interesting machine and technology shows and displays. The company GEOD demonstrated the advantages of the small drilling rig construction such as SPEEDY DRILL mast or BIRDIE device. The company JL MASKINER held a presentation of static cracking with the machine Ditch Witch PR 95 and the drill rig HDD ALLTERRAIN JT 2720. Drilling cracking was also presented by MARPOL while MC Bauchemie held a show of BRAWOLINER technology for service lines with 90 degree joints renovation within the diameter range 70 - 250. We are happy to know from our experience so far, that most of the people who attended the ENGINEERING Conference and gained new business and personal contacts, will come back next year. We encourage and warmly invite everyone else to participate as well.
