For many years no-dig technologies have been present on the world market and their development is increasingly visible and desirable. Their main asset is that they limit the scope of earthworks needed at the construction, renovation or examination of the technical condition of all types of pipes. Nowadays it is more and more difficult to imagine the areas where underground repairs are to be conducted as excluded from traffic. Due to the use of no-dig technologies in urban areas there is no need to \"paralyse\" the already crowded agglomerations.
The methods and technologies as well as specialised equipment available on the market allow for the application of the optimal solution for any type of damage in underground infrastructure constructions. The use of no-dig technologies is essential not only in view of heavy traffic, but also for economic, social and environmental reasons. Minor inconvenience for the community, little probability of damaging other pipes or underground cables, saving time and mitigating damage to the environment weigh in favour of the said technologies. No-dig technologies of laying new pipes are especially convenient in places where open excavation works obstruct traffic, restrict traffic capacity and are hazardous to the environment. They also allow for the avoidance of collisions with the existing networks and cables and do not cause any surface damage that would additionally require repairs and cause inconveniences. The possibility to conduct underground works in city centres, in densely built-up areas characterised by heavy traffic allows for limiting the generation of additional costs related to traffic reorganisation, construction of provisional passages, organising diversions etc. Furthermore, the use of no-dig technologies allows for the mitigation of the immediate danger for people in the area where works are conducted. Increasingly stricter regulations on environmental protection and ecological conditions even necessitate the use of such technologies. Therefore, the combination of ecological as well as economic and social reasons make no-dig technologies the technologies of the future as testified by the example of the developing contracting companies and the growing number of investments, where such methodology is specified as the correct manner of completion of a given task.
Not accidentally, more and more often various fairs, shows or conferences on no-dig technologies are organised. International events dedicated to no-dig technologies keep coming up in the schedule of industry events and continue to be very popular. As the market of no-dig technologies continue to grow robustly, it is very important for both investors and contractors to keep up with all industry novelties. The participation in the international No-Dig fair and conference provides a forum which allows for gaining a deeper insight in the innovative solutions and modern equipment offered by exhibitors from the whole world and the lecture session introduces their theoretical aspects and constitutes an excellent basis for further development. It has become our tradition that we take an active part in this worldwide event both by publishing a special issue of "Trenchless Engineering" magazine in English on this occasion, and by presenting our publishing house at the exhibitor's stand.
